The seminar on “360-Degree Approach to Explore New Horizons in Agricultural Extension Education” was conducted on 27 January 2025 at the Institute of Agriculture and Research Technology (IART), NMV University, to provide students with insights into emerging trends and innovations in agricultural extension.
The programme was organized under the concept “Of the students, by the students, for the students” and featured expert lectures by Dr. B. Shanmugasundaram, Dr. Lalith Amarathunga, Dr. D. Puthira Prathap, and Dr. Simi Asharaf, who shared valuable perspectives on digital agriculture, ICT-based extension services, academic publishing, climate-smart agriculture and farmer-centric innovations.
The event also included presentations by Dr. T. Ramsundar and Dr. A. S. Archana on participatory and ICT-based extension approaches, followed by research presentations by postgraduate and doctoral scholars.
The seminar concluded with interactive discussions and a valedictory session, providing participants with valuable knowledge on modern agricultural extension practices and future opportunities in the sector.
