As part of its commitment to environmental awareness and sustainable development, Aadi Perukku 2025 was celebrated under the theme “Green Awareness Initiative” on 06 August 2025 at the Government Higher Secondary School, Muthuramalingapuram by the Department of Agronomy, Institute of Agriculture and Research Technology (IART), NMV University.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. K. R. Sundaravaradarajan, Vice Chancellor, NMV University, who emphasized the importance of agriculture, tree planting, and the role of youth in building a sustainable future. The event included interactions with the Headmaster, Assistant Headmaster, and students of Classes XI and XII, along with an introduction to NMV University and the Green Thumps Initiative.

An informative session on Seed Balls was conducted by Dr. R. Rajalakshmi, who explained their preparation, environmental significance, and role in ecological restoration. Ms. T. Chandralekha presented the Green Thumps promotional video, creating awareness and encouraging active student participation.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by the Headmaster of the school. As a symbolic gesture towards environmental conservation, seed balls were distributed to all students, inspiring them to contribute towards a greener and more sustainable future.
