On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Institute of Agriculture Research and Technology, NMV University celebrated the achievements of women who have made a significant impact in their respective fields. As a part of this celebration, the university awarded the prestigious Sarawathy Veeraiyan Icon Awards to Tamil teacher Mrs. Bakiyalakshmi from Kalloorani, Police Constable Mrs. Kanagammaal from M. Rediyapatti and Nurse Mrs. Mareeswari from Arupukkottai, Sanitary Worker Mrs. Mary from Naarthampatti,

The ceremony was attended by students, faculty members, and dignitaries. The event started with a welcome speech by Dean Dr. K. R. Sundaravaradarajan, who emphasized the importance of recognizing the contributions of women in society.

The awards were presented by the Chief Guest of the ceremony, Dr. S. Brindha, Achammaal Hospital, Arupukkottai. In her keynote address, she emphasized the need for women to break free from societal constraints and pursue their dreams.
