The observance of International Day of Forests (21 March 2026), World Water Day (22 March 2026) and World Meteorological Day (23 March 2026) was conducted on 25 March 2026 at the Institute of Agriculture and Research Technology (IART), NMV University, with the objective of creating awareness on environmental sustainability, natural resource conservation, and the importance of climate and weather in agriculture.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. K. R. Sundaravaradarajan, Vice Chancellor, NMV University. The event commenced with Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by a welcome address delivered by Dr. S. Swathi, Assistant Professor, Department of Agronomy, who highlighted the significance of observing UN Days and their relevance to addressing global environmental challenges.

As part of the programme, Ms. M. Kayalvizhi, III Year Undergraduate Student, presented a poetry recital focusing on nature conservation and environmental responsibility. An interactive quiz session based on the three UN Days was also conducted to enhance students’ awareness regarding forest conservation, water management and meteorological aspects related to agriculture.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem, leaving participants with a greater understanding of environmental stewardship and sustainable practices for the future.
