World Nature Conservation Day 2025

With a commitment to promoting environmental awareness and sustainable living, World Nature Conservation Day was observed on 28 July 2025 at the Institute of Agriculture and Research Technology (IART), NMV University.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. K. R. Sundaravaradarajan, Vice Chancellor, NMV University, who emphasized the importance of conserving natural resources, reducing plastic usage, and adopting eco-friendly practices for a sustainable future. The event commenced with Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by a welcome address delivered by Ms. S. D. Harini, Undergraduate Student.

During the programme, Dr. R. Rajalakshmi, Assistant Professor, Department of Agronomy, highlighted the importance of afforestation and environmental conservation, reminding participants that “Nature doesn’t need people; people need nature.” The initiative of the Squirrel Conservation Club, established by the Department of Agricultural Economics, was also showcased as part of the university’s commitment towards wildlife conservation.

The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. P. Kaviyadharshini, followed by the National Anthem, leaving participants inspired to actively contribute towards protecting nature and preserving biodiversity for future generations.
